Principle & Testing Methodology
Ultrasonic testing utilizes high-frequency acoustic sound waves (typically 1 MHz to 10 MHz) introduced into test materials via piezoelectric transducers. Sound waves reflect off material boundaries and internal discontinuities (cracks, inclusions, lack of fusion), returning precise time-of-flight and amplitude signals to determine flaw depth, orientation, and size.
